What inspired you to focus so heavily on sustainability and ethical production with Beachside Bikinis?
Sustainability is important to me because nature keeps us healthy, so it is our job to keep nature healthy. Running a business can cause a lot of damage to the planet, so I try my best to minimize our eco-footprint. Ethical production matters to me because it is the only morally right way to go about production. All people deserve safe, fair, and respectable working conditions. I believe in treating people with kindness and respect, and when something comes from a place of love, it shows. It is important to me that Beachside Bikinis are made from a place of love, positive intentions, and morals.

How do you select and design the limited styles and cuts you offer, and what makes them unique compared to other brands?
First, I select my favorite styles, evaluate why I like them, and consider what could be improved upon/changed. Each of the chosen styles go through layers of design, sampling, and consideration – leading to the final measurements, angles, and details. All of the variations (colors, fabrics etc.) have been thoughtfully designed for a cut, allowing them to embrace a single identity. Beachside Bikinis are selective, comfortable, high quality, fashion forward, sustainable and ethical. Our swimwear features subtle and elegant branding, closer size scaling (smaller), soft fabrics, and remarkable consideration. By focusing on one target market, we have the ability to create more tailored products, as well as a simple, straightforward shopping experience.

Can you walk us through how your personal recovery experience influenced the mission and values of Beachside Bikinis?
My journey has led me to evolve and grow as a human being, entrepreneur, designer, and creative. The BB mission is to make the world a better place, one little thing at a time. Experiencing what I did really inspired me to notice “the little things” in life. It shaped my knowledge for what I needed to create, and how I want to impact and inspire others.
What challenges did you face launching a brand at such a young age, especially after going through a major health setback?
The biggest challenge that I have faced creating a brand at 15 and launching at 16 is believing in myself. I have struggled with being able to push past the belief that a business can’t be taken seriously because I am young, or that someone else knows better. I have grown so much with this company, and am proud to be able to trust my own opinion versus seeking reassurance from others.
What does the customer experience mean to you, and how do you ensure that every Beachside Bikinis package delivers on your vision of a “wrapped up experience”?
The customer experience is a top priority and we aim to create the best: from the shopping, receiving, wearing, and loving of Beachside Bikinis. Our straightforward shopping experience aims to be an easy, enjoyable task. I carefully package everything personally, and always have the goal to make someone’s day (at least a little better). The product bags have “BB” quotes on them, the tags have qr codes for the customer’s easy access, and I like to write handwritten notes to the customer (sometimes with a discount/coupon code). Lastly, we hope that our customers make the best memories and enjoy their time wearing Beachside Bikinis.
