Empowering Girls With Confidence And Comfort
Meg Smith, founder of Cloudstate, is revolutionizing teen intimates with sustainable bras and a digital platform, promoting inclusivity, body positivity, and emotional well-being for adolescent girls navigating puberty and self-esteem challenges.
Cloudstate, a groundbreaking brand built by and for girls, is transforming one of the most emotional milestones of adolescence—buying a bra. With a focus on innovation, inclusivity, and emotional support, Cloudstate is changing the way young girls experience this rite of passage.
Through extensive research, Cloudstate uncovered a recurring theme among teen girls: the current bra-shopping experience feels impersonal and disconnected. Many girls feel like “order numbers” and lack the support they need for not just finding the right product, but understanding and embracing the changes their bodies are going through.
At the heart of the brand is a revolutionary approach to bra design led by Jayne Pascale, who also designed one of Aerie’s best-selling bras. Unlike conventional bras with rigid sizing and outdated standards, Cloudstate’s bras feature adaptive pad technology that flexes, molds, and grows alongside the wearer’s unique shape and development. The brand uses sustainable, body-safe materials, ensuring girls’ physical health is prioritized alongside their emotional well-being.
The need for a brand like Cloudstate couldn’t come at a more critical time. By the age of 13, more than half of girls feel unhappy with their bodies, and this figure skyrockets to 78% by 17, according to a U.S study. With platforms like TikTok and Instagram dominating their lives, the pressure to conform to unattainable beauty standards starts early. One in three girls reports feeling negatively about their bodies on these platforms at least once a week.
Meg Smith, CEO and founder of Cloudstate, is on a mission to address this crisis. “The rise of misinformation aimed at young girls across digital platforms underscores an urgent need for credible resources, empowering products, and emotionally safe communities,” Smith explains.
Smith brings a wealth of experience to Cloudstate, having previously founded Love, Lexxi, an ethical brand rooted in impact and community. She has built a powerhouse leadership team to back her vision, including Co-founder Dr. Jessica Shepherd, Head of Strategic Growth Blake Simpson, Brand & Community leader Nell Shapiro, Head of Finance Meghan Couture, and Operations Advisor Kim Walsh.
Together, the team is pioneering two major launches in 2025. In July, Cloudstate will unveil GTL (Girl Talk Live), a first-of-its-kind digital platform. GTL provides girls with a safe, anonymous space to ask questions about puberty, body changes, and mental health. It will be a hub for connecting with mentors and accessing expert-backed advice in a fun, engaging way.
This will be followed by the much-anticipated debut of Cloudstate’s bra collection in the Fall, perfectly timed for back-to-school season.
“Today’s teen girls are navigating growing up in a way no other generation has before,” says Smith. “They aren’t just influenced by their own biology anymore—social media algorithms are playing a huge role in how they see themselves. At Cloudstate, we’re giving these girls a voice and the tools to rewrite puberty culture on their own terms.”
With a mission to empower and uplift the next generation, Cloudstate is more than just a bra brand—it’s a movement for emotional resilience, body positivity, and self-worth. Stay tuned as this trailblazing company reshapes how girls experience some of the most transformative years of their lives.
